*Behind Ventana Inn is a ring of 700-year-old redwood trees which was a sacred space for the Esselen tribe who used to often hold weddings and funerals on this beautiful space.
*The Post Ranch Inn is consistently in a list of top 5 hotels in the state of California. Travel and Leisure named it the 13th best hotel in the world.
*Due to a large landslide which formed a beach below the waterfall in 1983, McWay Falls no longer drops directly into the ocean but onto the sandy beach instead. Many are drawn to the McWay Falls and find an outlook from which to photograph them (the beach is not accessible on foot).
*The Bixby Bridge was built on land once owned by Charles H. Bixby. Mr. Bixby was one of the first to suggest that a bridge be built across this span. The construction would not even start for another three decades. It is one of the highest single-span bridges in the world (260 feet high).
